Student Volunteers make our AI workshops possible. As a volunteer, you will be responsible for teaching our
clients one-on-one the curriculum that will be provided to you. Our curriculum covers basic artificial intelligence concepts,
programming with Scratch and Python, and data-labeling techniques. You will have the opportunity to earn community service hours
for your work. See below for more details
• Review the 4ai curriculum ahead of time and teach it to a client, providing the client personalized assistance throughout the workshop
• Assist the lead instructor in other tasks such as setting/cleaning up and curriculum development
• Must be able to attend monthly workshops that are roughly two hours long each (ON PAUSE DUE TO COVID-19)
• Must be a current high school student
• Patient and works well with others
• Knowledgeable about computer science and artificial intelligence, or willing to learn quickly
• Earn community service hours
• Get to interact with and form rewarding relationships with clients
Chapter Board Members are in charge of managing their local chapter, which includes coordinating workshop schedules
with their corresponding disability service organization, recruiting student volunteers to teach the workshops, fundraising for their chapter,
and maintaining public relations. You may also serve as a lead instructor of the AI workshops or assist other volunteers depending on your position.
You must apply to join the board of a pre-existing chapter, or you can start your own chapter in a new location. See below for more details.
• President: leads the chapter by overseeing board activities, conducts weekly meetings / check ins, coordinate workshop schedules and volunteers, make key decisions about chapter operations, represent 4ai on a local level, files 4ai paperwork, and lead workshops
• Vice President: assist the President with their duties, mainly focuses on outreach and development with disability organizations and with chapter volunteers (recruiting, training, distribution of volunteer hours, informing them of leadership opportunities as one continues to engage with the club, and helping to train the next year’s board members)
• Treasurer: manage the chapter’s financials, raise funds through grants and fundraisers, send yearly financial reports to 4ai
• Secretary: take note of important chapter activities through writing blogs (sent to 4ai monthly), keep official documents (members, contact info, volunteer hours)
• Publicity Officer: create promotional materials for all relevant chapter activities (graphics, posters, etc.), manages promotional campaigns for the chapter, proficient in social media marketing, and documents chapter activities visually through photography / videography
• Must be a current high school student
