OUR PROCESS: THE 3 Es

Our 3 step process is simple: education, employment, and edification. Through this process, we hope to bring forth societal change by recognizing society’s inherent prejudices and working to eliminate them so that all can have an equal chance of reaching their full potential.

1. EDUCATION

In today’s digital world, the ability to work with technology has become an essential skill. Yet still, there is a significant lack of technology-related education, especially regarding artificial intelligence, available for people with disabilities.

We created a comprehensive and accommodating curriculum that covers AI and programming principles, plus data-labeling training. Our high school volunteers teach this curriculum through workshops that also facilitate social interactions between the disabled and able-bodied.

2. EMPLOYMENT

82.1% of the 56.7 million people who have a disability in the US are unemployed, and those employed often face heavy discrimination in the workplace. The tech industry, in particular, greatly lacks representation from the disability community.

Through our training workshops, we prepare our clients for a digital work career in the tech industry, aiming to place our trained clients in our partnering tech companies. Labeling data used to train AI, as shown above, is an example of how our clients can contribute to the development of technology.

3. EDIFICATION

There currently are numerous faulty negative stereotypes and attitudes linked to the word “disability.” Both physical and mental barriers often hinder those with a disability from reaching their maximum potential.

We embrace diversity, as we believe talent is distributed equally, but opportunity is not. Through example, we hope to inspire other companies, and society as a whole, to be more accepting of the disability community. We are on a mission to break down barriers, prejudices, and discrimination.
